Environmental Career Workshops

These two hour workshops have been developed by recruitment and career development specialists. They are aimed at graduates / soon to be graduates and careers changers to provide advice and guidance on how to get you started in the environmental industry! The structure of the session addresses:

• What is an Environmental Job?

• Career Development Cycle (Self Assessment, Exploration and Implementation)

• Sharing the frustrations – Group work

• Strategies to overcome frustrations – Group work

• Your top tip from the evening

• Question and answer session

The workshops are generally organised to run the third wednesday evening of every month, between 6.15 - 8.15pm. Entry is $55, including GST. Attendees receive a free copy of the EnviroPluck DVD. For information on the next workshop visit the Events page.

Environmental Careers One-on-One Sessions **NOW IN SYDNEY TOO**

These 45 minutes session are run by our recruitment and career consultants. The session includes one-on-one advice and a CV review. They take place every Wednesday between 2pm - 3pm (Melbourne) and every Tuesday between 12 - 1pm (Sydney) or can be done over the phone (for other states). Other times may be arranged to suit on request, if our consultants are agreeable. The costs are:

• Full Time Student / unemployed: $55 (including GST).
• Part Time Student: $66 (including GST).
• Professional / Employed: $77 (including GST).

Networking Sessions

Our experience tells us that not only is networking the most important activity to do when job hunting, but is the most difficult. EJN has therefore developed Networking sessions to enable you to pick up some tips and techniques to break that silence, make the first move and be a confident networker. Group Sessions to Schools / Colleges / Universities

As part of our career service we can deliver or organise presentations and workshops for groups. EJN delivers talks and workshops to secondary schools, colleges, universities and community groups. The Environmental Jobs Network and Its Services

Although we do not charge for our staff to come and talk to you and your group about our services, we have to cover our costs, so travel costs will be charged. Please contact the office through the Contacts page to discuss this further.

Environmental Careers and Career Development

EJN can run a Environmental Career Workshop specifially for your group. This would include:

• A 60 minute workshop to facilitate discussion about environmental careers, career development process and strategies for securing positions.
• EJN career materials on display.
• EJN Career expert to spend time (up to 1 hour) before or after presentation networking with delegates regarding careers.

The costs are:

• University / Government: $770 (including GST) + travel and accommodation if out of Melbourne City.
• Primary or Secondary School: $385 (including GST) + travel and accommodation if out of Melbourne City.

Other Presentations and Workshops

Run A 'Presentation Workshop' session.

Ideal as a stand along event or part of a bigger EXPO / Conference / Career Fair. This includes:

A 15 minute presentation from an EJN Career Expert on topic decided up on by client.

A 30 minute workshop to facilitate discussion after the presentation.

EJN career materials on display.

EJN Career expert to spend time (up to 1 hour) before or after presentation networking with delegates regarding careers.

1 Free job Advert on EJN (If relevant, and within 3 months of Career Presentation).

The costs are:

• University / Government: $880 (including GST) + travel and accommodation if out of Melbourne City.
• Primary or Secondary School: $490 (including GST) + travel and accommodation if out of Melbourne City.

'Organise a Seminar, Fair or Workshop' session for a group / organisation.

We can organise an event for you that suit your / your clients needs. This includes:

• Organising the structure and content for the event. (client organises venue, registrations and catering)
• Running up to 4 hours of workshops on environmental careers (max 2 topics).
• Workshops can be on a specific environmental industry / career, a general environmental career overview or an expert panel discussion (EJN would arrange speakers / workshop facilitators).
• EJN Career Booth and career materials on display.
• EJN Career expert to spend time (up to 1 hour) networking before or after presentation speaking with delegates regarding careers.
• 1 Free job Advert on EJN (If relevant, and within 3 months of Career Presentation).

Costs are:

• University / Government: $1000 - $3000 depending on number of workshop topics / presenters required (including GST) + travel and accommodation if out of Melbourne City.
• Primary or Secondary School: $500 - $1500 (including GST) + travel and accommodation if out of Melbourne City.
