or PLANNING OFFICER

Skills Required:
• Tertiary qualifications in urban and regional planning, although experienced planning officers may also apply
• Knowledge of the Land Use Planning and Approvals Act is desirable
• Assistance to the Municipal Planner in the implementation of Council’s Planning Scheme
• Analysis of planning issues associated with the determination of development applications
• Work as part of a small team of professional officers
• Delivery of high quality services to Council’s clients
• Genuine interest in the challenges provided by local government
• Local Government experience would be desirable but is not essential.

Working Conditions:
• Based primarily at Council’s Riverside office (near Launceston, Tasmania) in the Development Services Department
• Salary range of $34,844 to $55,498 depending on the qualifications and experience
• 76 hour 9 day working fortnight
• Employer superannuation contribution of 12.5% after probationary period
• Professional development support.
