NATURAL RESOURCES AND RECREATIONAL PLANNING CO-ORDINATOR (Readvertised)

Greater Taree, located three hours north of Sydney, midway between Port Macquarie and Forster, offers some of NSW’s greatest surf and most serene beaches; fresh and saltwater lakes; estuary and freshwater rivers; rainforests; mountains; waterfalls; as well as all the comforts of regional city living.
Greater Taree is the perfect relaxed coastal environment for YOU. YOU will be part of a strong 240 person organisation and be a key member in a team of three responsible for developing and managing environmental and recreational projects incorporating planning and policy development, with community involvements.
Other duties include waterway infrastructure design and development and sourcing external funding for projects.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management Recreational Planning or demonstrated experience in these fields.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing plans of management
- Supervision and time management of a small team

DESIRABLE CRITERIA
- Experience in conducting flora and fauna surveys
- Competency in the use of GIS
- Ability to conduct public workshops

EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS
The position is currently rated at Grade 5 on Council’s Salary Structure and attracts an annual salary up to $68,000 per annum subject to experience and qualifications. A leaseback vehicle is available in accordance with Council’s leaseback policy.
