This role will work within the Landscape & Water Sciences arm of Future Farming Systems Research, on projects relating to environmental hydrology and sustainable water management of irrigated agriculture. The position is responsible for undertaking and reporting on a variety of environmental hydrology and irrigation research and investigation projects focussed on northern Victoria, particularly in relation to sustainable land and water resource management in agriculture.
The position will work under the supervision of senior researchers, but is expected to have capacity for independent thinking and for the application of creative solutions to research problems.
The position requires effective liaison with a wide range of stakeholders. Technical expertise is required to deliver research projects. Strong communication skills are required for the communication of results to technical and community forums. The position will involve teamwork and will require involvement in external liaison, scientific communication and project concept development.
