We are seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic and innovative person to join our team. You will work with our Environment and Recreation Team to undertake a variety of tasks including:

Environment and recreation projects

Environmental monitoring and assessments
-
Community consultation and environmental education services
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
-
Degree qualification in Environmental Science or related field
-
At least two years relevant work experience
-
Excellent customer service, negotiating, written and verbal communication skills
-
Demonstrated knowledge of Environmental, OH&S & other relevant legislation
-
Ability to use computer software including the Microsoft Office suite
-
Excellent teamwork, interpersonal and time management skills
-
Demonstrated integrity, enthusiasm, commitment and innovation
DESIRABLE CRITERIA:
-
Three or more years relevant work experience
-
Demonstrated experience in applying the principles of sustainability, including water and energy conservation
-
Experience or interest in Natural Resource Management including biodiversity conservation and bush fire management
-
Knowledge of environment and recreation management issues
-
Experience in preparation and assessment of environmental reports
-
Supervision of Staff/Contractors
-
Current driver’s licence (Class C)
-
Demonstrated knowledge of Local Government activities and responsibilities
-
Demonstrated ability to meet project time budget and quality targets
This is a permanent full time position and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Local Government State Award and Council's policies and procedures. The position is a Grade 16-17 with a salary range of $1030.30 - $1153.72 per week depending on qualifications, skills and experience. Salary
$1030.30-$1153.72 per week
