Australia’s leading resource for environmental employment, education and events
The Greenpeace Genetic Engineering Campaign plays a key role in driving the GE debate in Australia, capturing the imagination of the public and forcing real change to prevent the spread of Genetically modified organisms. We are seeking an experienced Campaigner to play a vital role in our dedicated cross-departmental team, developing and implementing creative, hard-hitting campaign projects that make a real difference.
This is an opportunity to provide high level policy and strategic advice to the campaign as well as leading priority campaign projects and line managing staff when necessary. You will be working to change public, government and business behaviour to meet campaign objectives and will actively represent Greenpeace in public activities, the business, scientific and government sectors and the media. You will create tools to increase awareness of the issues, build relationships on a grassroots level, and work collaboratively with other departments within Greenpeace to ensure that organisational goals are met.
The successful applicant will have the demonstrated ability to achieve environmental campaign objectives, proven knowledge of the Australian political and business environment as well as national and international government processes. You will be using your extensive lobbying experience and strong strategic abilities to inspire the best outcomes on GE issues and for the organisation as a whole. You will also be drawing on your excellent communication and organisation skills, knowledge of GE issues and a commitment to the ideals of Greenpeace.
As well as the opportunity to make a difference on crucial issues, Greenpeace offers employees a supportive work environment and a real commitment to life/work balance. We also encourage staff to develop new skills, take on challenges and get involved in the wider organisation.
