Coastal Saltmarsh Protection - Ninety Mile Beach - 13th-17th September.

Conservation Volunteers Australia

The Ninety Mile Beach is one of the most pristine beaches in Austrralia, with a rich marine-life and diverse flora and fauna in the adjoining sand dunes. This porject will help to create a wildlife corridor between Lakes Entrance and Wilsons Promontory in Cooperation with the Yarram Yarram Landcare Network.

Volunteers will have the unique opportunity to work on the dunes overlooking the rolling waves and with the seabreeze in their hair!

Weed removal activities of Boxthorn will allow for native vegetation to regenerate, and in turn create favourable habitat for native species such as the Growling Grass Frog, the Powerful Owl and the Long-nosed Bandicoot.

The project will depart at 8am on Monday the 13th of Sept from 162 Adderley Street, West Melbourne, and return around 4pm on Friday the 17th of Sept. The project costs $208 (discounts apply for full-time Australian students) which includes accomodation, food and project related transport.

But, you don't have to join all week! If you live close by and would like to meet the team there for one day or every day it's FREE!
