A number of casual positions are available in the Environment and Amenity Department at Darebin Council for Community Power Outreach Workers to work across the municipalities of Darebin, Moreland and Whitehorse.

The successful applicants will be responsible for engaging the public and motivating action for reducing personal and household greenhouse emissions. This will include staffing stalls, approaching members of the public at community events, in public places and/or delivering presentations.

The successful applicants will possess:

  • Understanding of environmental issues, particularly Climate Change and options for reducing household and personal greenhouse emissions    
  • Good communication and presentation skills including the ability to adapt content to different target audiences and situations  
  • Ability to motivate and inspire action
  • Demonstrated ability to undertake processes with precision and accuracy and to exercise initiative

These are casual positions involving occasional work on weekends, weekdays and evenings. Salary and conditions are in accordance with Band 4 of the Darebin Collective Agreement No.1.
