Join a skilled team in California's national parks and wildlife reserves, get amazing experience and help to preserve natural areas throughout the state, including the iconic Yosemite National Park.  Working with the California Conservation Corps, this program offers you the opportunity to participate on projects at many spectacular coastal and wilderness sites in the state of California.  Learn fantastic skills in teamwork, conservation activities, working in wilderness environments and make great friends overseas!  

 

This 4-week program will get you into the fresh air, camping in remote environments, carrying out vital conservation activities, exploring the rugged Californian wilderness and having lots of fun!  No experience necessary - just a sense of adventure and willingness to learn and enthusiasm to help the environment.   

Conservation activities may include: Coastal and inland trail maintenance, invasive plant removal, beach restoration, flood disaster training, habitat enhancement and leadership training or salmon habitat restoration in Yosemite National Park.  There will also be plenty of exciting opportunities for sight-seeing and exploring.  This is a trip of a lifetime – a chance to explore the remote wilderness areas of California and work with a dynamic, experienced team!    

 

Program Dates:

• 17th September - 15th October 
• 15th October - 12th November 2010

Program price: $AUD1,000 includes all meals, accommodation, training, activities, qualified and experienced guides.
