Fair Trade Fortnight 2009 (Victoria) Committee



The Marketing and Communications Coordinator will be responsible for all brand, marketing, communications/media and externally focussed marketing communications for Fair Trade Fortnight 2009 (Victoria).

POSITION TYPE:  Part time (0.2 - 0.4 FTE) Volunteer
REPORTS TO:  FTF09 Vic. Coordinator and FTF09 Vic. Committee

 

PRIMARY ROLE PURPOSE

•    To coordinate the marketing and promotion of Fair Trade Fortnight 2009 in Victoria
•    To manage all marketing and communications activities, inclusive of all channels such as web, print, conferences and online social networking channels (MySpace, LinkedIn, Facebook and other)
•    To develop and execute an integrated communications plan for FTF09 Vic that includes a range of communications including publications, media and web
•    To promote events run by other States in national promotional opportunities 

 

Fair Trade Fortnight 2009

Objective:

To raise awareness of the international fair trade system; participants in the fair trade sector; and the range of products available through it.

Strategy:

The FTF09 Vic. Committee is coordinating a one-day Fair Trade Fiesta on May 15th 2009 consisting of the following events, conducted in Storey Hall from 11am to 9pm:

•    Market - 11am-8pm
•    Education Day - 11am-2pm
•    T-shirt design, display and competition activities - throughout afternoon
•    Chocolate fondue afternoon tea – time TBC
•    Ethiopian Coffee Ceremony – time TBC
•    Presentations by speakers – throughout afternoon
•    RMIT launch: Australia’s first Fair Trade University – Launch TBC
•    Entertainment by acoustic and street performers – throughout day

Salary

Volunteer Position: Part time (0.2 - 0.4 FTE)
