We are seeking a highly motivated and suitably experienced person to fill a temporary position, until May 2010, to support the Department’s community relations and public awareness work in Southland while the current incumbent is on parental leave.

The position will encompass a variety of work including managing internal communication, high profile issues and working towards increasing public awareness of conservation through the media, events and facilitating greater community engagement in conservation.

Along with an interest in conservation, you will need excellent communication skills - particularly writing, editing and media liaison. Website experience is also desirable and some knowledge of general conservation issues would be an advantage.
