Our WILDLINE Emergency phone operates 24 hours a day and provides the Victorian public advice on sick, injured and orphaned native wildlife. Our amazing volunteers are situated all over Victoria and staff the 13 000 WILDLINE number from the comfort of their home. If you can spare an hour a fortnight or more please consider joining our Wildlife Community.

The phone rings and you pick up the phone to a distressed Victorian motorist who has found an injured kangaroo. You calm the caller and dispatch a Wildlife Victoria Rescuer.

You have just made a significant contribution to the life of one animal.

As an Emergency WILDLINE Operator you can do this a few times in a shift. Calls are forwarded to a nominated number of your choice. You may receive none or many calls in an hour.

What a great experience!

As an Emergency WILDLINE Operator you will also be given the opportunity to be present for the release of the successfully rehabilitated wildlife that you saved during your shift.

SPECIFIC TASKS & DUTIES
•Provide useful information that will assist callers using the emergency telephone service seeking information and advice with sick, injured and orphaned native wildlife

•Organise the active rescues and transport of sick, injured and wildlife to appropriate care (using a database of carers and transporters)

DAYS & COMMITMENT REQUIRED
The role of EPO requires a minimum commitment of just 1 hour per fortnight to cover a shift on the roster. Shifts available to suit!

LOCATION

The EPO works from their home and access to the internet and a telephone (fixed or mobile) are required. The EPO`s approved expenses will be reimbursed by Wildlife Victoria.
