Location: Umuwa, Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara Lands, NW South Australia
The Warru (Black-flanked Rock-wallaby) Recovery Officer is responsible for conducting training activities and supervising Anangu Rangers to carry out management activities consistent with Traditional Owner direction and Warru Recovery Team advice. The position supports the use of Indigenous Ecological Knowledge and contemporary land management practices.
Selection Criteria: The successful applicant will have a demonstrated understanding of and commitment to working for an Aboriginal organisation. Demonstrated ability to work with community groups, including facilitating meetings and ability to deal with cross cultural issues. Ability to work co-operatively as part of a team. Demonstrated ability to manage projects, organise and prioritise work with conflicting deadlines. Preparedness to travel and work in isolated areas and a “C” Class Drivers Licence. Experience in threatened fauna ecology and predator control will be highly regarded.
