This position leads and manages operational issues within the Region ensuring optimum use of resources on and off park in accordance with Divisional and Regional Business Plans.

Job details

  • Under the direction of the Regional Manager, deliver the operational outcomes specified in the regional plan and provide input to operational policies, guidelines and procedures to streamline activities;
  • Provide effective leadership and management at the regional level including effective resource use within divisional and regional business plans;
  • Liaise where appropriate with Centric Services Units to ensure activities and functions are in accordance with QPW policies and processes;
  • Establish and maintain close relationships and consultative processes with the community, indigenous peoples, special interest groups, other government agencies (local, state and federal) and industries relevant to the region to ensure effective management of the parks and forest estate;
  • Lead and participate on committees, boards and at other meetings relevant to agency, divisional and regional business;
  • Ensure compliance with legislative obligations and statutory requirements;
  • Provide effective financial administration and workforce management by ensuring that staff have the technical knowledge, skills, infrastructure and administrative support to discharge their duties; and
  • Ensure the accurate and timely input of information into divisional and regional reporting systems and provide advice to the Regional Manager.

Job Skill Requirement

  • (Critical) Demonstrated leadership and management skills to effectively manage a multidisciplinary staff;
  • (Critical) High level knowledge of environmental management issues, service delivery and relevant legislation;
  • (Highly Desirable) Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain close relationships and consultative processes with the community, indigenous peoples, special interest groups, agencies and industries
  • (Highly Desirable) Demonstrated high level research, analytical and problem solving skills and proven ability to develop options to resolve issues;
  • (Highly Desirable) Demonstrated project management skills

Qualifications

No formal qualifications are required.

You must have an unrestricted driver’s licence and be prepared to obtain a manual licence if required.

Salary

Salary per annum: $72515 - $77584
Salary per fortnight: $2779.50 - $2973.80
