Assist with developing solutions using hydrological and water balance models as well as geographic information systems that solve complex water supply problems to maximise regional water security and ensure the efficient and effective integration of urban, industrial and rural water supply planning and management in South East Queensland.

Your Key Accountabilities

1.    Assist with developing solutions to solve water supply problems involving hydrologic and water supply and demand balance considerations.
2.    Assist with establishing and maintaining hydrologic, pipe network models, water supply and demand balance models and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to optimise supply arrangements and regional water security.
3.    Identify opportunities to improve water supply delivery using established models.
4.    Develop and maintain constructive working relationships and networks (both formal and informal) with clients, stakeholders and project teams.
5.    Participate in meetings with water service providers and regulating agencies to optimise the development and management of water supplies in the regional water grid.
6.    Assist in the preparation of reports, briefings, correspondence and submissions on relevant project activities.

Are You the Right Person for the Job?

You will be assessed on the basis of relevant, proven experience or capacity in the following criteria, please ensure that you address each criteria in your application:

1.    Ability to develop solutions to water supply problems involving hydrologic and hydraulic (pipe network modelling) assessments and water treatment processes. 
2.    A general knowledge of water supply theory and practice and a demonstrated ability to acquire the specific knowledge, required to establish and maintain hydrologic and hydraulic models and Geographical Information Systems.
3.    Demonstrated ability to participate in teams, particularly multi-disciplinary/agency ones, and manage projects to meet deadlines and deliver practical outcomes.
4.    Sound presentation and written communication skills.
5.    A knowledge of or a demonstrated ability to acquire knowledge of policies, standards, and legislation relevant to the planning and management of water services in Queensland.

Salary

Salary per annum:    $46071 - $58967
Salary per fortnight:    $1765.90 - $2260.20
