Our client is a leading multi disciplinary land development consultancy with approximately 160 staff specialising in Town Planning, Urban Design, Landscape Architecture, Surveying, Environmental, Water and Civil Engineering.

With a strong outlook for the first half of 2009, they are seeking a senior civil engineer with extensive design experience in water projects.

The role requires the preparation of design plans and specifications for:
•    drainage (including WSUD)
•    sewerage and water supply works
•    detailed design of sewage gravity and pressure pipelines

In addition you will be required to:
•    Determine client requirements
•    conduct and manage site surveys and investigations
•    produce calculations, specifications and drawings to ensure that technical designs provide appropriate solutions.
•    Provide technical expertise in specialist area of engineering to meet project needs.
•    prepare schedules of quantities
•    arrange tenders
•    liaise with clients
•    mentor and supervise junior staff
•    provide administration of construction contracts,
•    write reports

Preferred applicants should have:
•    Minimum 10 years’ experience;
•    Strong detailed-design skills on water projects;
•    An ability and proven experience in leading teams;
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
•    Excellent work ethic;

Previous experience in the use of MicroStation/12D and MX would be highly desirable, however training will be provided if necessary. Any additional design or modelling software experience will be highly desirable. We strongly urge candidates to clearly outline their software experience in their resume.
