Environment legislation and policies are currently undergoing a series of signficant changes and reviews which will have an impact on industry, business and councils in 2010.  This Briefing will provide an insight into the new environmental laws, industry obligations and intiatives currently under consideration.  Issues to be examined will include:

 

  • State & Federal legislative changes to expect in 2010
  • Future directions of EPA and the initiatives to be developed and delivered
  • Details of the draft Australian Packaging Covenant
  • The new National Waste Policy - an analysis
  • Changes to Dangerous Goods Storage & Handling
  • Outcomes of Environment Ministers' last meeting (EPHC) covering:  Televisions & Computers Product Stewardship Framework; Tyre Produce Stewardship; Chemicals - Productivity Commission Report into Chemicals & Plastics Regulation
  • Details of the draft Australian approach to setting Air Quality Standards.
