CARBON LEADERSHIP FORUM - FUTURE DIRECTIONS
KEYNOTE SPEAKER: The Hon Mark Dreyfus QC, Federal Parliamentary Secretary for Climate Change & Energy Efficiency

The Federal Government's objective is that by mid-year decisions will be made on the detail of the carbon price mechanism (Australia's carbon tax) framework; including a starting price on carbon; with an aim to have legislation in Federal Parliament by August-September 2011; with a proposed commencement date, for a carbon tax, of 1 July 2012.
The Forum will provide an insight of what's to come with respect to the cost of carbon and the final detail of the framework which will impact energy users. Industry case studies will be presented by companies currently working under the EU and/or NZ Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS) and the changes made within their company; the challenges experienced, and the message for business operating in Australia. The Forum will explore the likely impacts to your organisation and business operations.

INTRODUCTORY LEVEL - DANGEROUS GOODS STORAGE & HANDLING WORKSHOP

The Introductory Workshop is designed to provide an good understanding of the handling and storage of Dangerous Goods at an introductory level for those personnel who have a basic or general understanding of Dangerous Goods requirements.
The Workshop will cover the Dangerous Goods Storage and Handling Regulations; overview of the Australian Dangerous Goods Code 7th edition (ADG7); understanding the terminology; the 9 Classes of Dangerous Goods; Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS); Australian Standards and sources of information to consider.

INTERMEDIATE LEVEL - DANGEROUS GOODS STORAGE & HANDLING WORKSHOP
Wednesday 17 August 2011 - PM Half Day
The IntermediateWorkshop will provide a detailed analysis of the obligations, liabilities and procedures under the Storage & Handling of Dangerous Goods Regulations; details of Australian Dangerous Goods Code 7th edition (ADG7); the Code of Practice; the incompatibilities of the 9 Classes of Dangerous Goods; segregation of chemical rules and techniques; bunding; placarding; documentation; compliance strategies and much more.
It is highly recommended that participants who require a refresher of Dangerous Goods knowledge or who have a general or limited knowledge of Dangerous Goods, should attend the Introductory Level - Dangerous Goods Storage & Handling Workshop (as above).

MANAGING RISK ASSESSMENT FOR DANGEROUS GOODS WORKSHOP
Wednesday 24 August 2011 - 8.45 - 2.30pm
Dangerous Goods legislation across Australia places an obligation on the users of dangerous goods to conduct Risk Assessments and to properly manage the risks associated with the use of dangerous goods chemicals. The safe management of dangerous goods at manufacturing, industrial and sites in general, is through the identification of hazards, and the quantification and management of risks.
For many, the process of conducting a Risk Assessment can be daunting. The AEBN Managing Risk Assessment for Dangerous Goods Workshop will provide participants with the necessary tools to manage the Risk Assessment process.
