Australia’s leading resource for environmental employment, education and events
Access2008 brings together professionals and students from a variety of disciplines to explore the role of development programs in creating and leveraging access for disadvantaged communities to knowledge, resources and technology.
The conference is open to anyone interested in the fields of development and sustainability, and you
certainly don`t have to be an engineer to attend!
Over three days more than 40 international and local speakers at the forefront of international development work will share about their professional and personal experience and observations from the field.
Using the technical sectors in which EWB works as a focus, core development principles will be explored in hands on, theory based and group work sessions.
Day 1 - Water and Sanitation
Day 1 looks at the implications of increased and improved water supply and the intrinsic role of health, hygiene and education in improving community livelihoods.
Day 2 - Accessibility
Day 2 focuses on the
enabling aspect of technologies - with an emphasis on information communication technologies and biomechanics.
Day 3- Built Environment
The third and final day explores how energy, power, infrastructure and design can be genuinely community focused.
