Designed specifically for those seeking a career in biological research and development, this course allows students to gain experience in leading edge scientific research, working as a member of a research team. Unique aspects of the program include: work with a postgraduate student mentor; active research laboratories; supervision by a staff research group; a project management environment; and a seminar program with international researchers. First-year studies include: organisation and function of cells; animal diversity; ecology and behaviour; genetics; human biology and evolution; plant science; chemistry; 45 credit points of electives.
