This course takes advantage of being located within the important Murray-Darling River Basin. It provides an excellent education and industry-focused experience in environmental science and management, working with local scientists and employers on the very challenging problems facing freshwater ecosystem management. Key content includes: water and air quality; population ecology; community ecology; environmental policy and legislation; wastewater treatment; environmental assessment; conservation ecology; management of natural resources of water, land and forests; fisheries and wildlife management; soil science; field excursions to support theoretical learning; and opportunities for work experience, including experience at the Murray Darling Freshwater Research Centre.
