This course provides professionally-oriented management studies suitable for those working or wishing to work in national parks, recreation parks and historic sites, urban parks and wildlife management.

The course gives you the opportunity to work as a technical officer or field officer in a wide range of areas including parks and other protected areas. This course articulates with the Bachelor of Applied Science (Parks, Recreation and Heritage) which means subjects in the Associate Degree are fully recognised in the Bachelor degree. When you complete the Associate Degree you will be able to enrol in the Bachelor degree to give you a much broader range of options when you graduate.

Course Structure

Students are required to complete 12 core subjects, two professional practice subjects and two restricted electives chosen from one of three areas: Ecosystem Management, Cultural Resource Management or Outdoor Recreation Management. Students usually study two subjects per session.
