Australia’s leading resource for environmental employment, education and events
The Bachelor of Environmental Science (Marine Biology) course provides a program of interdisciplinary study on the interaction of organisms in their living and non-living environments, how marine ecosystems work, the impacts of humans on the environment, and how marine resources can be managed in a sustainable way. An integral part of this course is the study of marine wildlife and the influence of oceanographic processes.
The course consists of a well balanced mix of units from biology, ecology and oceanography, combining and integrating theoretical knowledge and practical skills. The ability to undertake fieldwork, the inclusion of summer schools at Warrnambool and Queenscliff, the opportunity to participate in a unit in tropical marine biology, and to add knowledge of freshwater systems to this 'salt-water' course, will provide an exciting, absorbing and flexible program of study. The use of real-time video links between the field and laboratories will enhance study experiences.
