The Bachelor of Environmental Science (Freshwater Biology and Management) is a unique, innovative new course of study, focusing on the biology of freshwater organisms, freshwater habitats, and applied solutions to the management of freshwater resources. Students gain knowledge, understanding and skills in areas, such as freshwater biology and ecology, land-water interactions, impacts of humans on water, and waterway management.
Students will have the advantage of professional experience within the course, through experiential learning options, such as working with active researchers and undertaking 'internships' with professional employer organisations such as Catchment Management Authorities. Extensive fieldwork throughout the course offers students field-based skills, gained in the unique freshwater environment that surrounds the Warrnambool campus.
