The Bachelor of Environmental Science (Environmental Management) at Deakin is focussed on training people to meet the diverse demands of managing, in a wide range of fields, for environmental sustainability. The course provides students with a broad-based knowledge of the functioning and management of the complex interactions between the biological, physical, social, economic and political worlds. The course is a well balanced mix of subjects which provide a sound understanding of the biophysical basis of environmental management, together with development of the appropriate skills for management in areas such as environmental assessment, sustainability, monitoring, planning, evaluation, policy and research. Graduates of this course will gain the knowledge and skills to be effective managers of all facets of our natural environment. Students can also undertake an elective course of study in park management.
