Experience South Africa with GVI...

If you have never felt the hairs on the back of your neck rise at the magic of the African night, then this is the program for you! The 2 week Wildlife Conservation Experience in South Africa is a fantastic introduction to the African bush. You will be learning about the wildlife, which includes the Big Five, and helping daily with crucial conservation work. You will be part of a team monitoring the behaviour of the animals in their natural environment, and learning many useful skills including tracking, basic field guiding skills and radio telemetry.

With costs starting from only £775 for 14 days, this is a relatively inexpensive way to experience raw Africa while giving something back. A quick comparison of mainstream safaris reveals that you would be likely to pay an average of £1800 for 14 days for a more conventional tourist experience.

Train to become a TEFL Qualified Teacher with GVI in Thailand

This traineeship provides an opportunity to completely immerse
yourself in an exciting culture while gaining a useful qualification.
Trainees are based in an area known for its natural beauty and unspoilt
nature. In addition to the hugely rewarding work of teaching children,
trainees will be contributing to the long term wellbeing of these
communities, which have been struggling since the 2004 tsunami.

Trainees do a 100 hour TEFL course, enabling them to then teach
English as a foreign language. At the end of the 10 week course, they
will be given the option to work for a further 10 weeks at placements
across South East Asia.

Recent local events included the birthday festival of the King of
Thailand on 5 December. Trainees were involved in the local festivities
- each sub district built a traditional Thai house in which they
displayed their community's agricultural techniques, handicrafts,
natural attractions, etc. There was also a market selling traditional
Thai food and batik clothing, with dancing, music, and Thai arts.
